Question to the HM Treasury:
To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, what the cost was to HMRC of administering cheque payments to (a) people and (b) companies in 2024-25.
This question was answered on 2nd June 2025
The cost of sending cheque payments to people and companies in 2024-5 was £1.7 million. HMRC does not keep separate figures for cheques sent to people and companies.
