Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to the statement entitled The United Kingdom strongly condemns the Houthis’ decision to resume conflict in Yemen and their continued strikes on Saudi Arabia: UK statement at the UN Security Council, published on 10 September 2026, whether he intends to allocate military resources to monitor and respond to Houthi activity in Yemen.

The Houthis pose a significant threat to regional security and to the safe passage of international trade through the Red Sea. We condemn the Houthi attacks, and extend our sympathies to those affected by Houthi attacks, including civilians in Saudi Arabia and Yemen, and continue to work closely with our Saudi partners.

The Government is monitoring developments closely and remains in regular contact with Saudi Arabia.
