The Government is working to deliver legal certainty on the UK’s future relationship with the EU, recognising that uncertainty has had a short-term impact on the performance of the UK private equity market.

The deal we have negotiated with the EU is the right deal for the country. And for financial services, the Political Declaration sets the foundations for a comprehensive future relationship with the EU that works in our mutual interest. It will be of greater depth than any other the EU currently has with a third country in financial services.

The agreement on the full Political Declaration is a major step forward in providing clarity for the industry about a smooth transition to our new relationship.
