Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, pursuant to the Answer of 5 September 2017 to Question 6051, what estimate he has made of the additional costs to (a) lenders and (b) business customers that would be created by setting rules on the level of business lending allowed through non-bank finance providers.

The Government has not made an estimate of the additional costs to lenders or business customers that would be created by setting rules on the level of business lending allowed through non-bank finance providers.

The Government monitors the level of business lending through both bank and non-bank finance providers, working with both the British Business Bank and the financial regulators.
