The British Business Bank published an assessment of the level of lending through banks and peer-to-peer providers to small and medium-sized businesses in its report on Small Business Finance Markets in February 2017.

The report can be found at http://british-business-bank.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/BBB-SBFM-REPORT-2016-17-web.pdf

The Government also monitors the Bank of England’s Money and Credit statistical releases and other statistical publications.
