Government ministers and officials have been engaging regularly with civil society stakeholders to discuss the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the charity and voluntary sector. This includes discussions about the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.

The Job Retention Scheme must be temporary, and the Government must ensure people can get back to work safely and get the UK economy up and running again.

The Government has set out a £750 million package of support for voluntary sector organisations providing key services and supporting vulnerable people during the pandemic.

The Government will continue to monitor the impact of Government support on businesses and voluntary sector organisations, public services, individuals and sectors.
