The investigations into lending by HBOS are a matter for Lloyds Banking Group (LBG) and the Financial Conduct Authority. They are on-going, independent investigations, and it would therefore not be appropriate for the government to intervene. The government expects that the investigation by Professor Russel Griggs will help LBG to resolve outstanding cases as soon as possible, so that any victims of fraud at HBOS Reading can be properly compensated.
