The information requested on the number of people who were ineligible for the Self-Employment Income Support Scheme and the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme who will be required to pay the Health and Social Care Levy is not held.

The Health and Social Care Levy is based on National Insurance Contributions and will be paid by employers, employees and the self-employed. The Levy will be introduced from April 2022.

This Levy, together with the equivalent increase in dividend tax rates, will make available an additional £12 billion a year for the NHS and social care.
