Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, with reference to her Department's policy paper our plan for patients, published on 22 September 2022, what steps they are taking to measure progress on that paper's targets for ambulances, backlogs, care, doctors and dentists; and when she plans to deliver those targets.
‘Our plan for patients’ commits to increase the number of 999 and NHS 111 call handlers by December 2022 and launch a £500 million Adult Social Care Discharge Fund. This aligns with previous commitments, such as the ‘Delivery plan for tackling the COVID-19 backlog of elective care’. This will be monitored through the relevant national statistics and performance data.
