Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many payments were fraudulently charged to her Department’s budget using electronic purchasing cards in the financial years (a) 2019-20, (b) 2020-21, and (c) 2021-22; and what was the total value of fraudulent payments (i) made and (ii) recovered in each of those years.

There is no record of any payment fraudulently charged to the Home Office budget in 2019-20.

There were four instances of payments fraudulently charged to the Home Office budget in 2020-21. The total value was £1903.82 and the total recovery in this year was £1903.82.

There were two instances of payments fraudulently charged to the Home Office budget in 2021-22. The total value was £542.90 and the total recovery in this year was £542.90.
