The Modernising Corporate Reporting consultation and the Small Business Regulatory Taskforce are complementary, both contributing to the Government’s wider objective of reducing regulatory burdens on business. The consultation is seeking evidence on the costs, benefits and practical impacts of potential reforms including for SMEs.

As consultation proposals are developed, the Government will consider their impacts on business and undertake appropriate assessment before implementation. This will ensure that reforms are evidence-based and proportionate while supporting the Government’s wider regulatory reform objectives.
