The temporary fuel uplift was targeted at local bus services and eligible community transport operators through the existing Bus Service Operators Grant (BSOG). The uplift is intended to help protect essential local transport links facing increased fuel costs, including services relied upon by rural communities, vulnerable passengers and people travelling to work, education and healthcare appointments. Coach services are not generally eligible for BSOG and were therefore not included within the scope of the uplift.
