Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, pursuant to the answer of 8 September 2026 to Question 22797 on HMP Liverpool, who is the new contractor that has been identified and by when will a new contractual programme have been confirmed.

Wates have been appointed as the new contractor for the refurbishment project at HMP Liverpool.

Construction work on G-Wing of HMP Liverpool was restarted on 14 September 2026, with assessment work moving at pace for the remaining wings.
