Question to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities:

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, what guidance his Department has issued to local authority housing services on the provision of support to homeless people that may have covid-19; and what steps he is taking to ensure that those services are prepared to support homeless people and rough sleepers with covid-19.

We continue to work closely with local authorities to ensure they are prepared to deliver their statutory obligations under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.

The Secretary of State has instructed officials to work with councils to support and maintain their public services, including housing provision via the Covid-19 Response Fund, which has initially been set at £5 billion and provides funding so public services are prepared and protected.
