Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to his Department's annual report and accounts 2025 to 2026, what was the specific nature of the £1,349,000 constructive loss of the Cyber Resilience Programme.

The £1.349 million constructive loss relates to seven undeployed cyber security appliances procured under the Cyber Resilience Programme.

Subsequent reassessment of demand and the supplier's confirmation of the equipment's end of service date meant the assets could no longer be deployed, had no alternative operational use or resale value, and were therefore written off and disposed of in accordance with Departmental accounting policy.
