Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what discussions he has had with his counterpart in the Chinese government on the protection of pandas.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office has not recently discussed the protection of pandas with the Chinese government.

We have close relations with a number of other organisations who are collaborating with China on this important work, most notably the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland.
