Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what representations he has received on the decision of Shell UK Ltd to contract the Allseas Group vessel the Pieter Schelte to carry out decommissioning work on three platforms in the Brent Field on the UK Continental Shelf; and if he will make a statement.

I have received representations from the trade union, Unite, objecting to the name of the vessel, the Pieter Schelte. The Allseas Group made a statement on 6 February confirming that the name of the vessel would be changed and that the new name would be announced shortly.
