Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, in how many cases HMRC has objected to a company being allowed to be struck off by Companies House for non-filing of accounts; and whether he has made an assessment of the cost to the public purse of companies that have been struck-off and not been subject to formal insolvency procedure in the last five years.

Information on the number of objections would only be available for 2 years and at disproportionate costs.

HMRC does not hold information on the reason for a company being struck off.
