Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, if he will take steps to increase access to physiotherapy services for those awaiting surgery for musculoskeletal health conditions.

In January 2023, NHS England published, ‘An improvement framework to reduce community musculoskeletal waits while delivering best outcomes and experience’. The framework will support integrated care systems to reduce commissioned community musculoskeletal waiting times while delivering best outcomes and experience for patients. It includes defining principles, recommended actions across primary, community and secondary care and further resources.
