Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, what assessment he has made of the effect of block chain technology on the financial services industry.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is continuing to examine the implications of blockchain technology through its Regulatory Sandbox. In addition, the FCA issued a discussion paper to gauge industry’s views on the potential for future development of blockchain, which closed in July.
