Question to the HM Treasury:
To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, pursuant to the Answer of 13 November 2017 to Question 111358, on the Royal Bank of Scotland: small businesses, what representations he has received from business organisations on the date for publication of the further report of the Financial Conduct Authority on Royal Bank of Scotland's treatment of small and medium-sized enterprises.
Treasury Ministers and officials communicate with a wide variety of organisations in the public and private sectors as part of the process of policy development and delivery. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has published an interim summary of the independent review of Royal Bank of Scotland’s treatment of small and medium-sized enterprise customers transferred to its Global Restructuring Group. The FCA announced it is investigating the matters arising from the review and focussing on whether there is any basis for it to take further action. It would not be appropriate for the Government to comment further whilst this process is ongoing.
