Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, of the civil claims notified to his Department relating to events that occurred during the Troubles in Northern Ireland from 1969, how many of these claims have led to compensation being paid.
The Ministry of Defence records on compensation do not extend back to 1969, and therfore we are unable to confirm the number of claims that have resulted in compensation payments.
Information related to Northern Ireland Troubles-related claims has since 2014/15 been published as part of MOD common law compensation claims statistics on gov.uk (https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/mod-compensation-claims-statistics).
