Create a trauma-informed task force to develop a strategy to address trauma

We think trauma is an unaddressed public health issue, with no nationwide strategy to address it. We feel a coordinated, cross-sector, trauma-informed response is essential. We urge the Government to develop a trauma-informed taskforce to create a more compassionate, effective, equitable system.

We think the government should embed trauma-informed (TI) principles into laws and policies, across health and social care, education, and criminal justice. We would like a cross-government task force to develop a strategy for and deliver a system response to trauma, promoting early intervention (to both prevent trauma and to intervene sooner with appropriate support for those impacted by trauma), reducing inequalities in health and life course from birth, and fostering a TI workforce.
