A general election is not the time for a debate on the failure of Brexit as people vote based on other issues. But the economic damage being done to the country by Brexit cannot be ignored for another 5 years. By having a referendum before the next general election, politicians could have a clear instructions from the people on how we want the next government to address our relationship with our nearest neighbours and closest trading partners.
