Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask His Majesty's Government what assessment they have made of attacks on several villages in the Um Baru locality of North Darfur, Sudan; and what assessment they have made of the group responsible for those attacks.

I refer the Noble Lord to the answers provided on 9 June to his previous Question HL417 and on 15 June to Question HL728. The UK continues to press for an immediate cessation of violence in Sudan, adherence to international humanitarian law - including in Darfur, and accountability for those who violate it.
