Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask His Majesty's Government what assessment they have made of any recent cross-border escalation of violence between Israel and militants in southern Lebanon; and whether they have made any representations to governments in that region to de-escalate any further violence in those countries.

The UK condemned the indiscriminate rocket attacks from southern Lebanon and Gaza and recognises Israel's right to self-defence. We urge all sides to maintain calm and avoid taking actions which make peace more difficult to achieve.
