Mandate plays an important part in facilitating the resettlement of refugees in various locations across the world. There is no specific quota or target for the number of people resettled via Mandate. The referral of cases (and the corresponding numbers of arrivals) under Mandate is dependent on the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) identifying cases which meet its criteria.

Mandate operates in addition to the Gateway programme which resettles 750 people a year. This is in addition to our commitment to resettle 20,000 people under the Syrian Vulnerable Peron’s Resettlement scheme and 3,000 people under the Vulnerable Children’s Resettlement scheme.
