Further to the answer I gave the noble Lord on 1 July in response to Question HL1039, NHS England is supporting the safe use of artificial intelligence (AI) across urgent and emergency care, including ambulance services.

NHS England is testing AI-enabled approaches to the triage of NHS 111 and 999 calls, starting with lower-acuity calls, so that ambulance services can benefit once these are shown to be safe and effective. Ambulance trusts are also exploring how AI tools can reduce administrative burden on staff. Trusts share learning and good practice on AI through the northern and southern ambulance collaboratives and the Association of Ambulance Chief Executives.
