The UK formally recognised the State of Palestine on 21 September 2025. The UK recognises Palestinian statehood over provisional borders, based on the 1967 lines subject to agreed land swaps, to be finalised through future negotiations. The UK remains of the firm view that the two-state solution is the best means to secure lasting peace, security and prosperity for both Israelis and Palestinians.
