People who have been granted limited or indefinite leave to remain as a refugee, or have discretionary leave to remain or humanitarian protection, are entitled to claim Universal Credit in the areas of the country where the full service for all claimant types is available, whilst their leave to remain in the country is valid.

Outside these areas they are entitled to claim other benefits such Job Seekers Allowance.
