Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask Her Majesty’s Government what is their estimate of the number of carers who will be affected by the reduction of the benefit cap to (1) £20,000 per year outside London, and (2) £23,000 per year in London.

The Government set out its assessment of the impacts of the policies in the Welfare Reform and Work Bill on 20th July. A copy of the impact assessment is attached.
