Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many staff are employed in her Department to process asylum claims and clear the backlog of cases.

Decisions on asylum claims are made by Decision Makers within the Asylum Intake and Casework Unit and the Home Office has rolling recruitment campaigns to ensure the number of Decision Makers are maintained at a level that allows the Home Office to progress cases in line with service standards.
