The Department has worked to build testing capacity in the city of York, operating a site at Poppleton Bar Park and Ride and the University of York in the constituency of York Outer, alongside other facilities such as mobile testing units and home testing across Yorkshire. COVID-19 test sites are opening regularly across the United Kingdom, with the Department surpassing its commitment of 500 sites operational by the end of October.
