NHS England is committed to providing timely access to new drugs and medical technologies and is working closely with the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence on how this can be best achieved, while also ensuring the financial sustainability of the National Health Service. Clinical commissioning groups are also responsible for working with their local communities to understand the needs of the local populations and make decisions about how best to commission services that meet those needs.
