Question to the Scotland Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland, what assessment he has made of the potential merits of locating his Department in York.
As part of Budget 2020, the Government committed to relocating 22,000 Civil Service roles from Greater London to locations across the UK, including York, with the Places for Growth Portfolio delivering on this commitment.
The Office of the Secretary of State for Scotland, is a Territorial Office with specific responsibility for representing Scotland. The Office is based in London and Edinburgh. We have no plans to relocate to York.
