Social Security Benefits: Mental Illness

Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, pursuant to the Answer of 23 June 2015 to Question 3126, if he will make it his policy to record the number of claimants receiving benefits pertaining to a mental health condition who are assessed as fit to work based on an assessment wholly on their physical health.

The Work Capability Assessment does not assess individuals only on their physical health, but also mental, cognitive and intellectual functions.
