Households wanting a new gas grid connection should contact their local gas network operator. Support is available for eligible low-income households through Ofgem’s Fuel Poor Network Extension Scheme, which provides discounted connections delivered by gas network operators. Additionally, the Government is focused on reducing exposure to volatile fossil fuel markets and supporting the transition to clean heat. Support to help households move away from fossil fuel heating is available through wider energy policy, including the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, which from 21 July will offer heat pump grants of up to £9,000 for oil heated properties.
