Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, whether her Department has (a) undertaken and (b) commissioned research on the link between social security sanctions and food bank use.

We have not commissioned any research on this. To better understand what drives food bank usage the department is currently undertaking a review of external literature, we plan to publish this review by the end of the summer.
