Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, how many (a) people and (b) businesses received national insurance contributions relief for employer supported childcare including workplace nurseries in (i) 2013-14 and (ii) 2014-15.

It is estimated that, during 2013-14, an average of 680,000 employees received National Insurance relief for the three forms of employer-supported childcare. The corresponding estimate for 2014-15 is 740,000.

Estimates for the corresponding number of businesses are not available.
