A wide range of safety and contingency measures are in place to ensure the safe movement of Defence Nuclear Materials throughout the UK. These are regulated and assessed by the Defence Nuclear Safety Regulator. Ministry of Defence officials have regular discussions with all relevant agencies including local authorities and emergency services, the Police and National Traffic Information Services, including those in Scotland.
