Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what factors were taken into consideration in the decision to extend the asylum housing contracts of G4S and Serco for the 2017 to 2019 period.

In deciding to extend and improve the contracts a range of factors have been carefully considered including value for money for the taxpayer, feedback from stakeholders and service users and the improvements in the standards of accommodation under the contracts, when compared to those achieved under previous contractual arrangements.
