Food: Exports

Question to the Department for International Trade:

To ask the Secretary of State for International Trade, with reference to his Department's press release entitled, Global ambitions for British food and drink could boost economy by nearly £3 billion, if he will publish the methodology used to calculate that the International Action Plan for Food and Drink could benefit the UK economy by £2.9 billion over five years.

These calculations were based on the economic and statistical analysis of market trends, along with information from industry and the Department for International Trade’s global network which identified opportunities for each market. This was also based on the predicted outcomes of ongoing market access work which will generate new opportunities.
