Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what discussions he has had with the Secretary of State for Transport on the potential effect of steps to increase capacity on planes by reducing legroom on the health of passengers.

There have been no discussions with my Rt. hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Transport on the potential effect of steps to increase capacity on planes by reducing legroom on the health of passengers. The Civil Aviation Authority under the Civil Aviation Act 2006, has a general duty to safeguard the health of all persons on board aircraft. This duty includes both passengers and air crew.
