Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, how many academies have been transferred to a new sponsor since 1 September 2015.

Since 1 September 2015, 108 academies have transferred to a new sponsoring trust. In most, but not all cases, the transfers were because of performance issues and demonstrates our commitment to not allow failing schools to stagnate but to take robust action to move them elsewhere.
