Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what comparative assessment the Government has made of the effect of the covid-19 outbreak on socio-economic status and recorded deaths from covid-19.

Public Health England (PHE) published a rapid review exploring the impact of COVID-19 across different population groups on 2 June. Factors examined included ethnicity, deprivation, age, sex and obesity. The analyses within the review looked at confirmed cases, hospitalisations and deaths related to COVID-19, where this data is available. The report is available at the following link:
