Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what the total salary costs were for Defence Equipment and Support employees in the 2020-21 financial year.

The information requested forms part of the Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) Annual Report and Accounts (ARAC) for the financial year 2020-21, which is due to be published later this year, following completion of the approvals process. As such, verified information is only available for financial year 2019/20, and as noted on page 61 of the DE&S ARAC 2019-20, the total salary costs for that financial year were £468 million.
