Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what recent risk assessment he has made of children returning to (a) nursery (b) primary and (c) secondary school during the covid-19 outbreak.

My right hon, Friend, the Secretary of State, has made it clear that schools and early years providers will only reopen when the scientific advice indicates that it is the right time to do so, based on five key tests.

The Department is working closely with the sector and stakeholders to consider how to reopen, when the time is right. We will take into account the latest scientific advice to ensure we have the right guidance and the right support in place once we are ready to reopen schools and nurseries.
