On 27 August 2026, the Government published “The economic benefits of touring and impact of EU exit”. This independent research by Ipsos and Nordicity assessed the impacts of post-EU exit requirements – including visa and work permit rules, transport restrictions, and customs procedures – on UK touring artists and crews.

The published report includes economic modelling on the impact of current barriers, including visas and work permit requirements, and the potential benefits of mitigating them, providing a robust evidence base to inform the Government's manifesto commitment to support touring artists and guide ongoing engagement with EU partners.
