The strategic review recognised the world leading role of the NC3Rs. Following the review, the Centre will now receive ongoing support through UKRI’s Life Sciences Programme, providing greater stability and enabling the NC3Rs to maximise opportunities across UKRI and its research councils. Alongside this, grant funding previously administered by the NC3Rs will instead now be delivered through UKRI and its research councils’ response-mode and targeted funding schemes in order to enable wider support of government priorities in the 3Rs. As with other reviews of MRC investments, the findings inform corporate strategic decision-making and are not routinely published.
