Question to the Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade:
To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade, if he will make an assessment of the potential merits of ending the practice of Daylight Savings time in the UK.
The Government believes the current daylight-saving arrangements represent the optimal use of the available daylight across the UK. We have no plans to introduce single summertime, double summertime or other such changes. Since the Government does not intend to make changes to the existing system, we will not be conducting an assessment on the potential merits of ending the practice of Daylight Savings Time.
